On Wednesday, March 4, 2009, four leading biofuels companies hosted a forum in Washington, D.C., to outline the steps that must be taken to move the country toward energy independence, national security, green job creation, and climate change mitigation. Presenting companies included Qteros, Inc., ICM, Inc., Sapphire Energy and Greenleaf Biofuels.
Sponsored by the New Fuels Alliance, the forum drew a standing-room-only crowd of more than 100 people, including members of Congress and representatives of academia, government agencies, and the private sector. Following each company's 10-minute presentation, a question-and-answer session gave attendees an opportunity to share information about recent developments and successes, along with some of the barriers facing the industry today.
